I'm Jamie Dunn. I'm an actor in NYC. I grew up next to a cotton field in a small farm town in North Carolina, spending most of my childhood making home videos with my sisters or playing in the woods with my dogs. I received my BFA in Acting from UNC Greensboro and moved to NY 3 months later. I've hopped around the city, but have finally called Astoria my hood - the local barber on my block always interrupts his hair cutting to wave hello to me... so, I consider that a solid win.

I had the the most amazing and rare opportunity to work on a piece from the moment of conception with SWEET STORM, a two-character play written for me by the amazing Scott Hudson. We met one fateful summer while I was apprenticing at the LAByrinth Theater Company summer intensive. "Open projects" were scheduled (when you're encouraged to create your own 10 minute piece to perform for the company) and Scott approached me, saying he was inspired to write a piece for me that was based on the heartbreaking love story of his southern parents. I typed while Scott brainstormed out loud and told me what to write, we performed the 10 minute piece together, and a few years later - after a handful of readings and rewrites, and the encouragement and support of many, especially Philip Seymour Hoffman - we put up the finished one-act for a workshop production at The Public Theater and then had an amazingly successful, extended Off-Broadway run at Theatre Row, directed by Padraic Lillis.
